1.Promoting Health Management

We monitor employees’ health through regular health checkups and, where necessary, provide individual guidance from occupational physicians and encourage employees to see a doctor. To help employees stay healthy and prevent illness, we also provide various cancer screenings and milestone-age checkups at company expense in addition to the legally required items, expanding the range of tests to support the prevention and early detection of disease.

A broader range of tests in regular checkups

  • Stomach and colorectal cancer screening and kidney function tests for insured employees aged 35 and over
  • Additional health screenings (including abdominal ultrasound and fundus examinations) during regular health checkups for insured employees aged 40, 45, 50, 55, 60, 65, and 70
  • Breast cancer screening and osteoporosis tests for insured women at even-numbered ages of 40 and above
  • Cervical cancer screening for insured women at even-numbered ages of 36 and above
  • Cervical cancer screening for insured women aged 30
  • Kidney function tests and other checks for insured employees aged 20, 25, and 30
  • HbA1c testing for all employees who take the regular checkup (for early detection of diabetes and prevention of its progression)

Infectious disease prevention

We work to prevent infectious diseases through measures such as subsidizing the cost of influenza vaccinations and offering vaccination opportunities at the workplace. For employees on overseas assignments or business trips, we provide vaccinations suited to the infectious disease risks at their destination, and we also arrange any necessary vaccinations for family members accompanying employees on overseas assignments.

2.Maintaining and Improving Health

As a first step toward building exercise habits, we regularly hold health-related events, including sports events aimed at building fitness and refreshing the mind, and seminars on diet and sleep, which are closely linked to lifestyle-related diseases. We also promote initiatives to maintain and improve employees’ health, such as preventing exposure to secondhand smoke and encouraging people to quit smoking.

Improving health literacy

  • Creating opportunities for exercise and holding sports events
  • Health promotion seminars (on diet, better sleep, and other topics)
  • Health seminars for women

Action on smoking

  • Preventing harm from secondhand smoke: separating smoking areas from other spaces
  • Encouraging people to quit: awareness activities and seminars on tobacco and health

3.Mental Health Measures

To promote employees’ mental health, we carry out a range of initiatives, including preventing and detecting mental health problems early, supporting employees returning to work, and providing consultation services.

Conducting stress checks

  • Conducted every year at all sites
  • Introducing online testing to improve participation rates
  • Encouraging employees with high stress levels to consult a physician for guidance
  • Reporting analysis results to the Safety and Health Committee
  • Improving the workplace environment based on the analysis results

An environment where any concern can be raised easily

  • A general consultation desk and a harassment consultation desk
  • Health consultation sessions with occupational physicians
  • Mental health consultation sessions with certified public psychologists

4.Creating a Comfortable Work Environment

To protect employees’ health and create a workplace where they can work with peace of mind, labor and management work together to curb long working hours and encourage employees to take their annual paid leave.

Work style reform

  • Using an attendance management system to track actual working hours and reduce long hours
  • Introducing a minimum rest period between shifts
  • Designating days that encourage employees to take paid leave

Encouraging communication across the company

  • A cafeteria-style dining hall open to all group employees
  • Dedicated spaces for informal conversation
  • In-house events
